p² - 5p + 9/4 = 0

4p² - 20p + 9 = 0

4p² - (18 + 2)p + 9 = 0

4p² - 18p - 2p + 9 = 0

2p (2p - 9) - 1(2p - 9) = 0

(2p - 1) (2p - 9) = 0

2p - 1 = 0 or 2p - 9 = 0

2p = 1 or 2p = 9

p = 1/2 or p = 9/2
