Hi there !!
Here's your answer

Given,
To factorise x² - y² + 2x + 1

Regrouping the terms,
we have ,

x² + 2x + 1 - y²
Using the identity (x+y)²=x² + 2xy + y²,
we have,

(x)² + 2(x)(1) + 1² - y²

(x + 1)² - y²

Using the identity , a² - b² = (a - b)(a + b)

x² - y² + 2x + 1 = (x + 1 - y)(x + 1 + y) [ Answer. ]
