Required Answer:-

Given to Factorise:

 \rm \mapsto ( {y}^{2} + 5y)( {y}^{2} + 5y - 2) - 24

Solution:

Let us assume that,

 \rm \mapsto x = {y}^{2} + 5y

Therefore,

 \rm ( {y}^{2} + 5y)( {y}^{2} + 5y - 2) - 24

 \rm = x(x - 2) - 24

 \rm = {x}^{2} - 2x - 24

 \rm = {x}^{2} - 6x + 4x- 24

 \rm = x(x - 6) + 4(x - 6)

 \rm = (x + 4)(x - 6)

Substituting the value of x here, we get,

 \rm = ( {y}^{2} + 5y + 4)( {y}^{2} + 5y - 6)

 \rm = ( {y}^{2} + y + 4y + 4)( {y}^{2} - y + 6y - 6)

 \rm = \{y(y + 1) + 4(y + 1) \} \{y(y - 1) + 6(y - 1) \}

 \rm = (y + 1)(y + 4)(y - 1)(y + 6)

Hence, the factorised form is (y + 1)(y + 4)(y - 1)(y + 6)

Answer:

  • Factorised form is (y + 1)(y + 4)(y - 1)(y + 6)
