using the form of [ ax^2 + bx + c]
splitting the middle terms

 {x}^{2}  + 4x + 4 \\  =  {x}^{2}  + 2x + 2x + 4 \\ x(x + 2) + 2(x + 2) \\ (x + 2)(x + 2) \\  {(x + 2)}^{2}
