Solution

1) a³ + 27

= (a)³ + (3)³

Applying identity

a³ + b³=(a+b)(a²-ab+b²)

= (a + 3) [(a)² + a×3 + (3)²]

= (a + 3) (a² + 3a + 9)

= (1)³ - (5y)³

Applying identity

a³ - b³ = (a+b)(a² + ab +b²)

= (1 - 5y) [(1)² + 1×5y + (5y)²]

= (1 - 5y) (1 + 5y + 25y²)
