Hey there,

-y²+2y+ 63 is the given equation.

so,

factorising by splitting the middle term :

-y²+2y+63

now we need to find the numbers whose

product = - 63

sum = -2

so the numbers are -9 and (+)7

now,

we put them in equation and get :

-y²-9y+7y+63

-y(y+9) + 7(y+9) (taking out the common)

(7-y) (y+9)

(y= 7) (y= -9)

HOPE THIS HELPS

THANKS
