I think in the last it is + sign by mistake u type - .

${x}^{2} - 6x + 8$

Using identity : x² + ( a + b)x + ab = ( x + a ) ( x + b )

${x}^{2} - 4x - 2x + 8$


$x(x - 4) - 2(x - 4)$


$(x - 2)(x - 4)$

=> x² -6x + 8

=> x² -(4+2)x +8

=> x² -4x -2x +8

=> x( x -4) - 2(x -4)

=> (x -4)(x -2)
