$= {a}^{2} - 3a - 2a + 6$

$= a(a - 3) - 2(a - 3)$

$= (a - 3)(a - 2)$

$on \: \: resubstituting \: a = (x - 2)$

$= (x - 2 - 3)(x - 2 - 2)$

$= (x - 5)(x - 4)$
