Factorise x^2 + xy ( 1 + y ) + y^3

opening backets we get

x^2+xy+xy^2+y^3

take first 2 terms and last two terms common

we would get :

x(x+y)+y^2(x+y^2) which is equal to : (x+y)(x+y^2)
