The given equation is x^3-2x^2-x+2

take the x^2 common from first two terms

 x^2(x-2)-1(x-2)

(x^2-1)*(x-2)

Now we can factorise the (x^2-1) as

x^2-1 = (x-1)*(x+1)

Therefore,  the equation can be written as

(x-1)*(x+1)*(x-2)
