x3 + y3,

and a difference of cubes is an expression of the form:

x3 − y3.

A sum of cubes can be factored like this:

x3 + y3 = (x+ y) (x 2 − xy + y2 ),

and a difference of cubes can be factored like this:

x3 − y3 = (x − y) (x 2 + xy + y2 )
