hi mate...

factorise:

x^2-5/12x+1/12=0

(multiplying by 12 on both sides)

12x^2-5x+1=0

can't be factorised .... as the middle term can't able to split...

may be the ques would be..

x^2-5/14x+1/14=0

14x^2-5x+1=0

14x^2-7x+2x+1=0

7x(2x+1)+1(2x+1)

(2x+1)(7x+1)

hope this helps
