Factorise x the power2+5x-24

x²+5x-24

x²+8x-3x-24=0

x(x+8)-3(x+8)=0

(x-3)(x+8)=0

x-3=0 or x+8=0

x=3 or x=(-8)

 =  >  {x}^{2}  + 5x - 24 = 0

=>It is in the form of a quadratic equation  \bold{\red{ {ax}^{2}  + bx +c = 0}}

=>Here ,we splitting the middle term

Step 1: multiply the coefficient of x^2 with constant term. suppose we obtain value 'z'

step 2:Think of a number whose addition and subtraction makes the value 'z' and it's product also makes the value 'z'

Step3 : last step is to factorise and take common.

 =  >  {x}^{2}  + 8x - 3x - 24 = 0

 =  > x( x + 8) - 3(x + 8) = 0

 =  > (x - 3)(x + 8) = 0

 =  > x - 3 = 0
