it is in form of ax²+bx+c = 0

so a = 1. b = 2√2. c = -6

x = -b±√(b²-4ac)/2a

x = -(2√2)±√((2√2)²-4(1)(-6))/2(1)

x = -2√2±√(8+24)/2

x = -2√2±√(32)/2

x = -2√2±4√2/2

so x = -2√2+4√2/2 OR
x = -2√2-4√2/2
