x³-3x²+2x=(x)(x²-3x+2)

To obtain factors of (x²-3x+2),

break -3x such that sum remains -3x but multiplication of coefficients becomes +2.

SO, -3x=-x-2x

here sum is still same and multiplication of -1 & -2 gives +2.

Therefore x²-3x+2=x²-x-2x+2=x(x-1)-2(x-1)=(x-1)(x-2)

Therefore,

x³-3x²+2x=(x)(x-1)(x-2)
