{\huge {\underline  {\underline  {\sf {Answer}}}}}

 {\underline  {\underline  {\rm{Given:}}}}

  • {x}^{3}-{x}^{2}-x+1

 {\underline  {\underline  {\rm{Find:}}}}

Here, we have to factorise the given equation

  • Taking out {x}^{2}

\implies {x}^{2}(x-1)-(x-1)

  • Taking out (x-1) from the expression

\implies (x-1)({x}^{2}-1)

  • Using the identity, {a}^{2}-{b}^{2}

\implies (x-1)({x}^{2}-{1}^{2})

  • As we know, {a}^{2}-{b}^{2} = (a-b)(a+b)

\implies (x-1)(x-1)(x+1)

  • Write the repeated multiple in exponential form

\implies (x-1)^{2}(x+1)

Hence, (</u></strong><strong><u>x-1</u></strong><strong><u>)</u></strong><strong><u>^{2}</u></strong><strong><u>(</u></strong><strong><u>x+1) is our answer .
