..factorise y^2+2y-48

Here is yr answer.....

=> y² + 2y -48

=> y² + 8y - 6y -48

=> y(y+8) -6(y+8)

=> (y+8) (y-6)

Factorising by middle term spilts method:-

First do the prime factorisation of 48×1=2×2×2×2×3.

After that what we do with prime factors that on adding it is 2y and by multiplying it is 48.

Therefore we do this
8y-6y=2y
and 8×6=48.

A/Q

→y²+2y-48

= y²+8y-6y-48.

= y(y+8)-6(y+8).

= (y-6) (y+8).
