Answer:

Given

a rectangle wise area is 180 m^2 has its side respectively diminished by 7 m and 4 m so as to become a square . find the sides of the square

Let the side be x and y

xy = 180

x = 180/y

We know that in a square all sides are equal.

So x – 7 = y – 4

    x – y = 3

 180/y  - y = 3

 y^2 + 3 y – 180 = 0

 y^2 + 15 y – 12 y – 180 = 0

 y(y + 15) – 12(y + 15)

(y – 12)(y + 15) = 0

 y – 12 = 0

 y = 12

Now x = y + 3 = 12 + 3 = 15

x = 15
