Given

we have given quadratic equation :16m²-8m+1

To find

We have to find the roots and hence factorise it.

\sf\huge\bold{\underline{\underline{{Solution}}}}

How to factorise..??

16m²-8m+1

The coefficient of m² is 16

-8m is a middle term and its coefficient is -8.

and the constant" is +1

Step-1 : Multiply the coefficient of m² by the constant 16×1=16

Step-2 : Find two factors of 16 whose sum is equal to the coefficient of the middle term, which is -8

16m²-8m+1

=>16m²-4m-4m+1

=>4m(4m-1)-1(4m-1)

=>(4m-1)(4m-1)

=>(4m-1)²=0

=>4m-1=0

=>4m=1

=>m=1/4 or m = 0.25

Alternative Method :

we will use quadratic formula for finding the roots.

using the quadratic formula we have

a= 16 ,b=-8 & c= 1

m=-b±√b²-4ac ÷ 2a

m= -(-8)±√(-8)²-4(16)(1)/2(16)

m=8±√64-64/32

m=8±√0/32

Here,the discriminant b²-4ac is >0

So,it have two real roots

m=8/32

simplify the fraction

m= 1/4

after simplification we get

m= 0.25
