Step-by-step explanation:

given,

4x^2 + x -2

here,

a= 4, b=1 and c = -2

we know that;

x =( -b+-b^2-4ac)/2a

x = (-1+-1+4*4*2)/2*4

x = (-1+-33)8

x = (-1+-5.74)/8

now,

taking positive sign

x = (-1+5.74)/8

x = 4.74/8

x = 0.59

taking negative sign

x = (-1-5.74)/8

x= -6.74/8

x = -0.84

I hope it helps you
