Hi ,

6 - x - x²

= 6 - 3x + 2x - x²

= 3( 2 - x ) + x ( 2 - x )

= ( 2 - x ) ( 3 + x )

∴ Required factors are ( 2- x ) and ( 3 + x )

I hope this helps you.

(6-x-x^2)

x^2-x-6 (multiply by minus)

x^2+3x-2x-6=0

x(x+3)-2(x+3)=0

(x-2)(x-3)=0

therefore, x=2 or x=-3
