7(p + 2)² - 8(p + 2) = 0

=> 7( p² + 4 + 4p) - 8(p + 2) = 0

=> 7p² + 28 + 28p - 8p - 16 = 0

=> 7p² - 20p + 12 = 0

=> 7p² - 14p - 6p + 12 = 0

=> 7p(p - 2) - 6(p - 2) = 0

=> (p - 2)(7p - 6) = 0

So :

p = 2 \\  \\ or \\  \\ p =  \frac{6}{7}

Answer:-

7(p + 2)² - 8(p + 2) = 0

=> 7( p² + 4 + 4p) - 8(p + 2) = 0

=> 7p² + 28 + 28p - 8p - 16 = 0

=> 7p² - 20p + 12 = 0

=> 7p² - 14p - 6p + 12 = 0

=> 7p(p - 2) - 6(p - 2) = 0

=> (p - 2)(7p - 6) = 0

So :

\begin{gathered}p = 2 \\ \\ or \\ \\ p = \frac{6}{7} \end{gathered}

p=2

or

p= 7/6
