a2−b2=(a+b)(a−b). 9x2−16 =(3x)2−(4)2. (3x)2−(4)2=(3x−4)(3x+4).

9x {}^{2}  -  \frac{1}{16}

we can write

(3x) {}^{2}  -  (\frac{1}{4} ) {}^{2}

NOW WE WILL USE THIS FORMULA

(a - b) {}^{2}  = a ^{2} + b^{2} - 2ab

HERE WE WILL ASSUME

a = (3x) ^{2}  \:

b = ( \frac{1}{4} ) {}^{2}

NOW PUTTING THEIR VALUES IN ABOVE EQUATION.....
