12 x.x - 4x - 3x +1
4x( 3x -1) - 1( 3x-1)
(4x-1) (3x-1)

riyabharadwaz: tell me how did you split the term?

GIVEN,
POLYNOMIAL = 12x^2 -7x +1

To split the middle term of a polynomial we need to follow the following steps:

⬜ Find the product of the co- efficient of the 1st and the 3rd term.

⬜ Then , find two numbers , whose product is equal to the product of the 1st and second term and, the sum is equal to the middle term.

⬜ Now , factorise the polynomial by grouping the like terms , and by taking common.

For your better understanding, the result is elaborated as follows:
Since, we are given the polynomial,
12x^2 -7x +1

= 12x^2 - 4x -3x + 1 [ here,( -4x -3x )= -7x, and -4x × (-3x) = 12, i.e, the product of the coefficient.]

= 4x ( 3x -1 ) -1 ( 3x -1 )
= ( 3x -1 ) ( 4x -1 )

HOPE IT HELPS YOU MATE ..❤️✌️⭐
