Step-by-step explanation:

xsquare + 9x - 52 = 0

xsquare +( 13x-4x) -52 = 0

xsquare + 13x - 4x - 52 = 0

(taking common)

x( x + 13) - 4 ( x+ 13) = 0

(x - 4) ( x + 13) = 0

now,

x - 4 = 0

x=4

and,

x + 13 = 0

x= - 13

hence required factors are:-

4 and -13
