Hey there. .......... .

q² - 10q + 21

= q² - 7q - 3q + 21

= q ( q - 7 ) - 3 ( q - 7 )

= ( q - 3 ) ( q - 7 )

Here is your answer.....

Hope this helps you.....

Given :-

q² - 10q + 21

to factorise it, first we needa find the pair multiples of 21 (the product of the last term and the coefficient of the first term)

here the coefficient of the first term is 1 and the last term is 21.

» 21 × 1 = 21

it's multiples :- 1 × 21 and 3 × 7

now, we've to choose one pair of multiples which makes the coefficient of the middle term either by subtracting or adding.

here the coefficient of the middle term is 10.

and 3 + 7 = 10

now put 3q + 7q in the place of 10q

➡ q² - (3q + 7q) + 21 = 0

➡ q² - 3q - 7q + 21 = 0

by taking common, we get

➡ q(q - 3) - 7(q - 3) = 0

➡ (q - 3) (q - 7) FINAL ANSWER

if you further wanna find the zeroes, then you can equate both factors with 0.
