Keeping x once 0 and 1 we get

p(0) = 0^3 - 23(0)^2 + 142(0) - 120
= - 120

Hence, 0 can't be value of x

p(1) = 1^3 - 23(1) + 142(1) - 120
= 1 - 23 + 142 - 120
= 143 - 143 = 0

Hence, value of x = 1
Thus, 1 factor of p(x) = ( x - 1 )
