Step-by-step explanation:

a)4a2 + 12ab + 9b2 can be written as (2a)^2+2*(2a)*(3b)+(3b)^2

so it is in the form a^2+2ab+b^2=(a+b)^2

4a2 + 12ab + 9b2=(2a+3b)^2

b) x2 – 5x – 24

factorise by add mul method

-24=-8*3(mul)

-5=-8+3(add)

x=8, -3

so x2 – 5x – 24=(x-8)(x+3)
