Applying the identity: a²-b² =(a+b)(a−b)

Using the above identity, the equation 4x²-9y² −2x−3y can be factorised as follows:

4x² −9y² −2x−3y

=(2x)² −(3y)² −2x−3y

=(2x+3y)(2x−3y)−1(2x+3y)=(2x+3y)(2x−3y−1)

Hence, 4x² −9y² −2x−3y=(2x+3y)(2x−3y−1)
