Let z = x² - 2x

Then \sf F = z² - 2 z - 3

    \sf = (z - 3) (z + 1)

    \sf  = ( x² - 2x - 3) (x² - 2x + 1)

 \sf  = (x -3 ) (x + 1) (x - 1)²

let \: x {}^{2}  - 2x = y

y {}^{2}  - 2y - 3

(y - 3)(y + 1)
