Factorize :

(x-2)^y-7(x^2-y^2)+12(x+y)^2

.using a2-b2=(a-b)(a+b),

given (x-y)2-7(x-y)(x+y)+12(x+y)2

let x-y = z and x+y =b

now we have, z2-7zb+12b2

= z2-3zb-4zb+12b2

= z(z-3)-4b(z-3)

so we have (z-4b)(z-3) we put the values of z and b

we ...
get, [x-y+4x+4y][x-y-3]

= (5x-3y)(x-y-3)...
