Correct Question:

Factorise x⁴ + x² + 1

Answer

(x² - x + 1)(x² + x + 1)

Step-by-step explanation:

→ x⁴ + x² + 1

{ Add and subtract x² }

→ x⁴ + x² + x² - x² + 1

→ x⁴ + 2x² - x² + 1

{ Write x⁴ + 2x² + 1 as (x² + 1)²

Used identity: (a + b)² = a² + b² + 2ab

So,

(x² + 1)² = (x²)² + 2x² + 1 }

→ (x² + 1)² - x²

Now, a² - b² = (a - b)(a + b)

Where; a is (x² + 1) and b is x².

→ (x² + 1 - x)(x² + 1 + x)

→ (x² - x + 1)(x² + x + 1)
