Given :-

y {}^{2}  - 5y + 6 = 0

What to find out =Roots of the equation?

Solution :-

Factorise by splitting middle term

y {}^{2}  - 3y - 2y + 6 = 0 \\  \\ y(y - 3) - 2(y - 3) = 0 \\  \\ (y - 3)(y - 2) = 0

Now split it into possible cases

(y - 3) = 0 \\  \\ (y - 2) = 0

Hence,

y_1 = (3) \\  \\ y_2 =( 2)
