Factors affecting the rate of evaporation
Answers
Answer:
surface area
Explanation:
with large surface area more amount of heat can escape from water or we can say evaporation occurs more quickly. So with increase of area evaporation rate decreases.
Answer:
______________________________________
Factors affecting the rate of evaporation are as follows :-
______________________________________
•Amount of water available :- Rate of evaporation is greater over the oceans than over the continents.
______________________________________
•Temperature :- As the air is heated it's capacity to hold moisture increases. Evaporation is directly proportional to to the temperature of evaporating surface.
______________________________________
•Relative Humidity :- The rate of evaporation is closely related with the relative humidity of the air. Relative humidity is the ratio of the amount of water vapour in the air to the amount the air can hold at the temperature or the capacity.

•Area of evaporating surface :- The rate of evaporation is determined by the area of the evaporated surface of water. Larger areas of evaporating surface increase the rate of evaporation.
______________________________________
•Air Preassure :- Evaporation is also affected by the atmospheric pressure exerted on the evaporating surface. Lower preassure on open surface of the liquid result in higher rate of evaporation.
