Given,

An equation, xy+x+y+1.

To find,

The factors of the equation.

Solution,

We have the equation xy+x+y+1.

  • The first term is xy, the second term x, the third term is y and the fourth term is 1.
  • Let us take x common from the first and second term and take 1 as common in the third and fourth term.

Therefore, we get-

⇒     x(y + 1) + 1(y+1)

Therefore we get common terms as (x+1)and (y+1).

⇒    Now, x+1 = 0 and y +1 = 0

⇒    We get x = -1 and y = -1 as factors.

Hence, the factors of xy+x+y+1 are x = -1 and y = -1.
