Coca-Coal and Fanta are the same company: Coca-Cola Refreshments; an American compan. Pepsi-Cola, another American brand, is their largest competition.

Thums-Up and Campa-Cola are products that were produced by private India brands. Before the 1970’s, the Campa Cola Company was the liscensed produce of Coca-Cola in India. But in 1977 many of the foreign countries withdrew out of India (due to a rule the Indian government set in place that foreign companies asserts needed to be majority owned by Indian companies). With no foreign soft-drink giants to get in the way; Thums up and Campa Cola were introduced by their respective companies and both brands quickly grew in market share.

When the Indian market reopen to foreign companies in 1991 Pepsi-Cola first came in and began competing with the local brands.

Coca-Cola re-entered the Indian market in 1993 and bought the “Thums-Up” company, which was the largest cola company in India. Because of the success of the “Thums- Up” Cola, and to compete with Pepsi, Coca-Cola continues to produce ““Thums up” in India.

Campa Cola could not compete with the foreign competitiors and ceased operations in 2000–2001; though there may still be a few smaller factors producing Campa Cola for their local markets
