DNA stands for Deoxyribo Nucleic Acid.

It is a hereditary material in humans and other organisms.

Mostly DNA is located in the nucleus of the cell , called Nuclear DNA.

Sometimes, it is also present in mitochondria and called

mitochondrial DNA.

DNA is made up of four chemical bases-

  • Adenine
  • Guanine
  • Cytosine
  • Thymine

An important property of DNA is that it can replicate, or make copies of itself.
