Reasons for the failure of Civil Disobedience Movement are:-
1) Khadi was expensive, and so it could not be afforded by the poor.
2) Indian institutions were slow to come up, and so people started trickiling back to the British institutions.
3) As there was no alternative, people began buying foreign cloth.
4) At Chauri Chaura, followers of Mahatma Gandhi burned down a police station in which 22 people were killed. With so much of violence, CDM colud not be continued, and so it was called back.
