We never imagined that we would have to be stuck inside for so long. However, this time has also given us the opportunity to rekindle the relationship we lost with our family. With the fast-paced lives, we were living, we hardly sat together as a family. The lockdown has given us a chance to go back to the days when family time was the most important time of the day. Here are a few ways in which the lockdown has benefitted families.

02/16Family mealtime

Sitting together to eat as a family was one of the most important things that we stopped doing. However, with the lockdown and all the family members at home the tradition of eating together is back.

03/16Dinner table conversations

Now that we are all eating together, we are also talking to our families much more. We are talking about our day, how we are feeling and how we are coping with the pandemic.

04/16Household chores together

Families are coming together to keep the house clean. With the house helps not there to help, everyone at home is doing chores from sweeping to washing clothes which makes them a perfect way to bond as well

05/16We get less offended

You definitely understand your family better after the lockdown. you know much more about them and how you they think. You are also more welcoming to their ideas and thoughts and naturally tend to get a little less bothered by things you might have otherwise.

06/16We are eating more Ghar ka Khana

Given the lockdown, you are unable to order food from outside. Which means we are having home cooked meals more often. Exactly what our parents and spouses always wanted. This means, you are also eating healthy and also eating on time.

07/16OTT’s are actually not that fun

With the amount of time on our hands as the lockdown continues, our first thought was to be able to complete all the pending movies and TV shows we just didn’t get the time to watch. However, the longer we stay at home, we realize OTT’s can become boring after some time. we constantly want to find new and more productive ways to spend the lockdown

08/16Board games are back

We spent our childhood with these games, but never got the time to sit and enjoy them when we grew up. However, they have made a grand reentrance into our lives this lockdown. Be it physically playing the game with our families or virtually with our friends, we are enjoying our childhood again.

09/16Classic TV shows are back too

How excited were we when we heard that Ramayana will start airing again? Doordarshan has been able to bring the golden era back for us to enjoy this lockdown. With all our favourite shows back on television, families are spending more time together, reliving those good old day

10/16You have become more empathetic

The more time you spend with your family, you end up understanding them better. You might still be arguing with your family, however the lockdown has given you more time to accept them and the things they believe in. Family units have become closer than ever during this tough time.

11/16The simple joy of cooking

Now is the time that everyone is coming together to experiment and try something new for dinner every day. Cooking is a good way to bring the family together and this way you will never get bored of the dinner either.

12/16Pets are being cared for

Pets, the one member of our family who would have missed you the most before the quarantine. With you at home, you pets are now getting the attention they deserve. You are spending more time bonding with them. At the end of the day, they too, need the same love that our children do.

13/16Phone conversations are back

We have long forgotten the time when we used to spend hours on the home landline talking to our friends and family. With the world having moved to texting, we often forget how important the touch of a voice or video call is. The lockdown has helped us rekindle the same romance with voice calls giving us the opportunity to express ourselves better. Something that is very important especially at a time like this.

14/16Extra time for hobbies

There has always been so much you wanted to do but never got the time too. It is time to bring out the artist in you and spend time with all your hobbies you were missing. It is a good way to spend your time and also take care of your mental health.

15/16Rekindled friendships

It becomes impossible to stay in touch with everyone we know in our normal lives. However, with the lockdown and with everyone having lots of time on their hands, it has become to talk to our school friends and people we forgot along the way.

In this busy world we do not have time to look at ones face and talk. In the morning our fathers rush to work ,our mothers rush to cook, we rush to school. In this rushing society we do not have time to spend with our family. After all busy works we sit in front on the television with our mobiles. Our family time is getting wasted in Whats app and facebook. We do not know our relations as we never visit them. This makes all of us live in a small circle. We also do not know many games which brings good skills in us.

During this lockdown our family is not going to work and go to school this makes us live together without any rush. During the lockdown people used mobiles but they watched movies and videos with the family. Slowly they started playing in the mobiles together then they started to play real board games. Like this so on people started spending more time with their family and lockdown bought a strong bond between family.
