Since the border is on both sides of the photograph, both the length and the

width of the photograph will be increased by twice the width of the border to

get the length and width of the frame.

Length of frame = 24 2/5 + 2(3 3/5) = 31 3/5

The width of the frame = 20 2/5 + 2(3 3/5) = 27 3/5

The area of the framed photograph = 31 3/5 x 27 3/5

                                                         = 872  4/25

                                                          = 872.16 cm²

Answer:

Since the border is on both sides of the photograph, both the length and the

width of the photograph will be increased by twice the width of the border to

get the length and width of the frame.

Length of frame = 24 2/5 + 2(3 3/5) = 31 3/5

The width of the frame = 20 2/5 + 2(3 3/5) = 27 3/5

The area of the framed photograph = 31 3/5 x 27 3/5

= 872 4/25

= 872.16 cm²
