Under this technique, viable embryos are created from the cells of the body and an egg cell.

Similar approach was taken in case Dolly in which, nuclear content was taken from mammary cells of Finn-Dorset sheep (nuclear donor), and enucleated egg was taken from Scottish Blackface sheep (cytoplasm donor).
