Explanation:

One of the most important discovery of Michael Faraday is producing induced current with the help of magnetic force .In other words we can say that Faraday produce electricity from magnetism phenomenon called electromagnetic induction. This can be illustrated by an activity .

Show a bar magnet at rest with respect to the metallic coil C.The coil is connected to a sensitive Galvanometer .The reading in the Galvanometer is zero .

When the north pole of magnet is being moved towards the coil ,the galvanometer some deflection. This means that the current is flowing in the coil .This current is called induced current .The remains in the circuit till the magnet is moving with respect to coil .When there is no relative motion, the reading in the Galvanometer is zero. Current is produced because a potential difference is developed across the coil. This potential difference is also called induced EMF (electromotive force ).

Answer:

When Michael Faraday made his discovery of electromagnetic induction in 1831, he hypothesized that a changing magnetic field is necessary to induce a current in a nearby circuit. To test his hypothesis he made a coil by wrapping a paper cylinder with wire.
