Given :-

Part of book read in one day :-

Remaining of the book was read on next day

To Find :-

  • Part of book read on next day
  • Number of pages read on both days

Solution :-

Part of book read on next day :-

{\tt \longrightarrow 1 - \dfrac{2}{5} = \boxed{\tt\dfrac{1}{1} - \dfrac{2}{5}}}

Convert them into like fractions by taking the LCM of the denominators i.e, 1 and 5.

LCM of 1 and 5 is 5.

{\tt \longrightarrow \dfrac{1 \times 5}{1 \times 5} - \dfrac{2}{5} = \boxed{\tt\dfrac{5}{5} - \dfrac{2}{5}}}

{\tt \longrightarrow \dfrac{5 - 2}{5}  = \boxed{\tt\dfrac{3}{5}}}

\Huge\thereforeThe part of book read on second day is {\tt\dfrac{3}{5}}

Number of pages read on first day :-

{\tt\longrightarrow \dfrac{2}{5} \sf \: \: of \tt \: \: 150}

{\tt\longrightarrow \dfrac{2}{5} \times 150}

{\tt\longrightarrow \dfrac{2}{\cancel{5}} \times 150 = \dfrac{2}{1} \times 30}

{\tt\longrightarrow \dfrac{2 \times 30}{1}}

{\tt\longrightarrow \dfrac{60}{1} = \boxed{\tt 60 \sf \: \: pages}}

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Number of pages read on next day :-

{\tt\longrightarrow \dfrac{3}{5} \sf \: \: of \: \: 150}

{\tt\longrightarrow \dfrac{3}{5} \times 150}

{\tt\longrightarrow \dfrac{3}{\cancel{5}} \times \cancel{150} = \dfrac{3}{1} \times 30}

{\tt\longrightarrow \dfrac{3 \times 30}{1}}

{\tt\longrightarrow \dfrac{90}{1} = \boxed{\tt 90 \sf \: \: pages}}
