Hey pal!

Amount the farmer earns per month = Rs.16000

Fraction of income spent on food = 1/4
Amount of income spent on food = 1/4 × 16000
= Rs.4000

Fraction of the remainder spent on house rent = 3/10
Amount of remainder spent on house rent = 3/10 × 12000
= Rs.3600

Fraction of the remainder spent on children's education = 5/10
Amount of the remainder spent on children's education = 5/10 × 8400
= Rs.4200

Total amount spent on food, rent and education = 4000 + 3600 + 4200
= Rs.11800

∴Amount of income left with him = 16000 - 11800
= Rs.4200

Ans: The farmer is left with a sum of Rs.4200.

Hope helped!!

hye

total money =  Rs 16000

=>
he spend 1/4 of his income to food

=>16000*1/4 = 4000 rs on food

he spent  3/10 of the remainder on house rent

=>4000*3/10 = 1200 rs on house rent

he spent  5/10 on children's education

=> 16000 *5/10 =  8000 rs

total money used = 8000+1200+4000
=> 13200

money left = 16000 - 13200

=> 2800rs
