Answer:

perimeter of square = 4l

= 4*10

= 40m

Now by unitary method

1 min = 60sec

so 60 sec ----> 40 m

170 sec -----> x

x = 170 * 40 / 60

x = 6,800 / 60

x = 113.33 m

Given : farmer wants to fence his square field of side 10 metres .

It takes him 1 minute for one round.

To Find :  his displacement at the end of 170 seconds.

Solution:

1 minute = 60 secs

60 secs completes 0ne round

170 secs = 60 + 60 + 50

= 60 + 60 + (60 - 10)

hence 2 complete round and 10 secs away from completing 3rd round

Perimeter of field = 4 x 10 - 40 m

Distance covered in 60 sec  =  40 m

Distance to be covered in 10 sec = 40 x 10/60

= 20/3 m

So He is 20/3 m from start

so displacement  = 20/3 m
