Mainly the chloroplast which is present in the plant gives the plant that green colour

and this chloroplast is mainly made of magnisium ions

The central metal atom of chloroplast is magnesium

So, when there is a magnisium insuffent situation, then the plant can't produce that green colour and it produces yellow colour.

But this problem is most dangerous to plant,so don't take it as a normal ill of plant.
