• Farrukhsiyar was the grandson of Emperor Aurangzeb. Farrukhsiyar was yet another ruler without any power.
• The reliable power was in the hands of the Sayyid brothers, Abdullah khan Baraha and Hussain Ali Khan Baraha. They were popularly known as 'kingmakers.
• In AD 1719, they removed Farrukhsiyar and placed two more rulers on the throne, each of whom ruled for few months only. Ultimately, they declared Muhammad Shah as the emperor.
