THE zero of x-1 is 1
by remainder theorem ,

f(x ) is kx^2 -3x+ k

=> f ( 1 ) = kx^2 - 3 x + k
= k(1)^2- 3 (1) + k
= k - 3 + k
= 2k =3
k =3/2

The value of k is 3/2
