Solution :

• We have four equations and four variables.
• Adding equations (3) and (4),

        x + y = 26    ....(5)

• Subtracting equation (1) from (2),

        y - x = 1    ....(6)

• Adding equations (5) and (6),

        2 y = 27

     ∴ y = 13.5

• Substituting y = 13.5 in equation (2),

        w + 13.5 = 15

     ∴ w = 1.5

• Substituting y = 13.5 in equation (5),

        x + 13.5 = 26

     ∴ x = 12.5

• Substituting y = 13.5 in equation (4),

        13.5 - z = 10

     ∴ z = 3.5

Answer :

        1.5   +    12.5    = 14
