Given :
Father takes - 15 days

Work done by father in 1 day = 1/15

_______________________________

Son is 50% efficient -

= 50/100 x 15 = 7.5 days .

work done by son in 1 day =

= 1/7.5 = 2/15.

If they work together -

1/15 + 2/15 = 3/15

Finding number of days -

3/15 of the work = 1 day

15/15 of the work = ?

= 15/15 x 15/3 = 5 days.

Hence:

If they work together they can

complete in 5 days.

 \bold{Number \: of \: days \: = 5}

Father takes 15 days

⇒ 1 day = 1/15 of the work

Son is 50% more efficient

⇒ Son needs 0.5 x 15 = 7.5 days

⇒ 1 day = 1 ÷ 7.5 = 2/15 of the work

If the worked together:

1 day = 1/15 + 2/15 = 3/15 of the work

Find the number of days they need:

3/15 of the work = 1 day

1/15 of the work = 1 ÷ 3 = 1/3 day

15/15 of the work = 1/3 x 15 = 5 days

Answer: They will need 5 days if they worked together.
